Standard No Society Summary
JIS G3302 JIS This Standard specifies the steel sheet and strip equally zinc-coated on both surfaces in a bath of molten zinc containing 97 % or over of zinc in mass fraction (provided that the aluminium content is usually 0.30 % or less). In this case, the term "sheet" includes not only sheets in flat form but also corrugated sheets of which the shapes and dimensions are specified in JIS G 3316.
CE ISO The CE marking (also known as CE mark) is a mandatory conformance mark on many products placed on the single market in the European Economic Area (EEA). The CE marking certifies that a product has met EU consumer safety, health or environmental requirements. CE stands for conformité européenne, French for "European conformity". By affixing the CE marking to a product, the manufacturer - on his sole responsibility - declares that it meets EU safety, health and environmental requirements.
ASTM A321 ASTM Standard Specification for Steel Bars, Carbon, Quenched and Tempered. This specification covers hot-rolled, quenched, and tempered carbon steel bars. Formerly under the jurisdiction of Committee A01 on Steel, Stainless Steel and Related Alloys, this specification was withdrawn without replacement in March 2007 due to lack of use.
ASTM A213 ASTM Standard Specification for Seamless Ferritic and Austenitic Alloy-Steel Boiler, Superheater, and Heat-Exchanger Tubes. This specification covers seamless ferritic and austenitic steel boiler, superheater, and heat-exchanger tubes. Grades containing the letter H in their designation have requirements different from those of similar grades not containing the letter H. These different requirements provide higher creep-rupture strength than normally achievable in similar grades without these different requirements. The tubes shall be made by the seamless process and shall be either hot finished or cold finished, as specified. Grade TP347HFG shall be cold finished. Heat treatment shall be done separately and in addition to heating for hot forming. The ferritic alloy and ferritic stainless steels shall be reheated. On the other hand, austenitic stainless steel tubes shall be furnished in the heat-treated condition. Alternatively, immediately after hot forming, while the temperature of the tubes is not less than the minimum solution temperature, tubes may be individually quenched in water or rapidly cooled by other means. Tension test, hardness test, flattening test, and flaring test shall be done to each tube. Also, each tube shall be subjected to the nondestructive electric test or hydrostatic test.
ASTM A516 ASTM Standard Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, Carbon Steel, for Moderate- and Lower-Temperature Service. This specification covers carbon steel plates intended primarily for service in welded pressure vessels where improved notch toughness is important. According to different strength levels, the plates are available in four grades: Grades 55, 60, 65, and 70. The maximum thickness of plates is limited only by the capacity of the composition to meet the specified mechanical property requirements. The steel shall be killed and shall conform to fine austenitic grain size requirements. The mechanical properties such as tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation shall be determined by a tension test for the plates.
ASTM A515 ASTM Standard Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, Carbon Steel, for Intermediate- and Higher-Temperature Service. This specification covers carbon-silicon steel plates primarily for intermediate- and higher-temperature service in welded boilers and other pressure vessels. Plates are available in three grades having different strength levels: Grade 60; Grade 65; and Grade 70. The steel shall be killed and made to a coarse austenitic grain size practice. The steel shall conform to the chemical requirements specified. Tension test shall be made to conform to the requirements specified.
ASTM A202 ASTM Standard Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, Alloy Steel, Chromium-Manganese-Silicon. This specification covers chromium-manganese-silicon alloy steel plates, intended particularly for welded boilers and other pressure vessels. Formerly under the jurisdiction of Committee A01 on Steel, Stainless Steel, and Related Alloys, this specification was withdrawn in September 2004 because there is no indication that the specification is being used or that material pertaining to it is being produced.
ASTM A706 ASTM Standard Specification for Low-Alloy Steel Deformed and Plain Bars for Concrete Reinforcement. This specification covers deformed and plain low-alloy steel bars in cut lengths or coils for concrete reinforcement intended for applications. Restrictive mechanical properties and chemical composition are required for compatibility with controlled tensile property applications or to enhance weldability. The steel shall be electric-furnace, basic-oxygen or open-hearth processed. Tension test, bend test and one set of dimensional property tests including bar weight and spacing, height, and gap of deformations shall be made of each bar size rolled from a heat. All tests and inspection shall be made at the place of manufacture prior to shipment, unless otherwise specified, and shall be conducted so as not to interfere unnecessarily with the operation of the works. A retest shall be provided when the specimen fails to meet the strength and elongation property requirements of the specification.
ASTM A615 ASTM Standard Specification for Deformed and Plain Carbon-Steel Bars for Concrete Reinforcement. This specification covers deformed and plain carbon-steel bars for concrete reinforcements in cut lengths and coils. Materials considered under this specification are available in Grades 40 [280], 60 [420], and 75 [520]. Steel samples shall be rolled from properly identified heats of mold cast or strand cast steel using electric-furnace, basic-oxygen, or open-hearth. Heat analysis shall be performed wherein steel materials shall conform to required compositions of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur. Steel specimens shall also undergo tensile tests and shall conform to required values of tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation. Steel samples shall also undergo deformation test, tension test and bend tests. Final products shall be marked by a tag.
ASTM A36 ASTM Standard Specification for Carbon Structural Steel. This specification covers carbon structural steel shapes, plates, and bars of structural quality for use in riveted, bolted, or welded construction of bridges and buildings, and for general structural purposes. Heat analysis shall be used to determine the required chemical composition for carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, and copper. Tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation shall be evaluated using tension test and must conform to the required tensile properties.
ASTM A304 ASTM Standard Specification for Carbon and Alloy Steel Bars Subject to End-Quench Hardenability Requirements. This specification covers carbon and alloy steel bars subject to end-quench hardenability requirements. The methods for estimating the hardness value of the material are presented. Method A is the minimum and maximum hardness values at any desired distance, Method B is the minimum and maximum distances at which any desired hardness value occurs, Method C is the two maximum hardness values at two desired distances, Method D is the two minimum hardness values at two desired distances, and Method E is any minimum hardness plus any maximum hardness. The heat analysis shall conform to the requirements as to chemical composition. The fine austenitic grain size requirements of the steel material are presented in details. The end-quench hardenability shall conform to the requirements specified on the purchase order. The test specimen requirements indicates that, the number and location of test specimens shall be in accordance with the manufacturers standard practice and shall adequately represent the hardenability of each heat, also, all forged or rolled hardenability test specimens must be normalized prior to testing. The grain size and end-quench hardenability test methods are presented in details.
